Growth Mindset Board Game

Here's our little surprise for the last school term. Cubs had the opportunity to play the Growth Mindset Board Game. It introduces the principles of Growth and Fixed mindsets - a theory by Carol Dweck, a psychology professor ffrom Stanford University. Hope everyone had fun learning and playing!

Young Aviator Badge

Cubs had a learning journey to Changi Airport.They learned about different occupations associated with an airport and some were courageous to interview staff. They identified the different airlines, amenities in the airport and the parts of an aircraft.

North Area Solar Oven Competition

Nanyang Pegasus won first in this competition! Cubs are required to make a solar oven out of recycled items and they did it creatively with teamwork!

Hillside World Academy

Combined Uniform Group Camp 2017

Cub Scouts joined other uniformed groups for a 3D2N camp. Some of the highlights of the camp were the high and low elements,St John's & Kusu Island and campfire.

Investiture Ceremony 2017

North Area CLTC (March 2017)

Our first cub leadership training camp! This camp serves to foster friendship between cub scouts from different schools and with the help of the Scouting Method or Experiential Learning methods, cubs learned outdoor scouting skills, social-emotional skills and leadership concepts.

Scouts (10 Nov) - Climber's Badge

Dear cubs,

Please be reminded that we will be going to Safra Adventure Sports Centre for our rock climbing activity. You will have an early dismissal at 1.15 p.m. to have your lunch and get changed. Please remind the last period teacher that you are going off earlier that day.

Attire: School PE shirt/house shirt with long pants (to avoid abrasions) and covered shoes

Climber's Badge: Learning Journey to Safra Adventure Centre (10 November)

Dear cubs,

We have an exciting programme coming up this November! All P1 to P6 cub scouts are invited. It is NOT compulsory but do note that there will NOT be any CCA for cubs who are not participating in this activity.

If you wish to participate, please fill in the consent form and submit to the Scouts pigeon hole by 5pm, 13 October. We will be giving out the forms tomorrow morning after flag raising. If you do not receive it, you may look for your Scouts teachers or print out the form here.

Dear cubs,

As part of the training before the competition, we will make our very own solar oven so I will need you to bring the following items. You may swap the recycled items to bring, at your own discretion but everyone needs to bring at least an item. Be proactive and creative!
*Failure to bring an item will deem a slot in the competition

3D2N September Training Camp cancelled

Dear all,

In view of poor response (less than 20 submissions and 3 late submissions) for the 3D2N camp, the teachers have decided to cancel the camp. However, selected pupils will be invited to attend an intensive CLTC (Cub Scout Leadership Training Camp) from 4 – 5 Sep.2017.

Scouts (11 Aug)

Dear cubs,

Please be reminded that there is a learning journey at Changi Airport tomorrow for the completion of Young Aviators Badge. Inform your form teacher and the last period teacher that you are leaving early.

Take your lunch at 1.10 p.m., get changed (scout full uniform) and be ready by 1.40 p.m. at the meeting point.
Deposit your bags at 2E classroom at 1.30 p.m. Do not leave any valuables behind.
You will only need a small bag for water bottle, snacks and a pencil case.
No log books/ record books are required.

Dismissal is at school, as usual, by 4 p.m.

The Solar Oven Competition is a challenge based on the theme of Renewable Energy and will require cub scouts to build, test, and cook with their self-constructed solar ovens, using only recycled materials. Click here to get an idea of the event.

UG Camp preparations

Dear parents


Some tips before the camp:


Rather than a trolley luggage, a haversack or duffle back is preferred. This ensures that the child can carry their own bags.


There will be a briefing for all camp participants tomorrow morning. Cubs, please look out for the announcement.


Do encourage your child to pack their own bag. You may supervise them. This ensures that they know what's in the bag. It's advisable to put each day's set of clothes in a ziplock bag / plastic bag so that the dirty clothes can be kept in the bag after the shower. We have a lot of instances of lost clothes when the kids go to the shower without a bag, or kids getting upset because their parents or helper forgot to pack an item for them. We do wish to instill a sense of responsibility and independence in the kids, so we greatly appreciate if parents can partner with us on this.

Dear all,

Remember to make a simple and presentable "Thank you card" for our cleaners' appreciation activity. You can fold a piece of A5 construction paper into half and then draw and/or stick stickers onto it to decorate it.
Don't forget the words "Thank You".
Remember to write your name at the bottom of the card too.
Submit your beautiful and completed card to the Cub Scout CCA pigeon hole by next Thursday, 13/4.
